CLASSIFICATION OF ROUND LOGS
White Oak Logs / (A Grade to D Grade) For white oak log, we mainly grade by defects like knot, rotten wood. The diameter of logs is 30cm & up x length 3 meter up. Measurement is over bark at the middle length of log. 1 - For A & A/B grade: Using for veneer slicing. Almost no knot, no black knot, accept healthy knot with diameter of knot less than 10mm, straight log, fresh cut log, diameter is 40 cm & up. no bending, no cracking. 2 - For B grade: using for making rotary veneer. Not much knots, no rotten knot, accept alive knot with diameter less than 20mm, straight log. 3 - For B/C & C grade: This is grade which is selling with big quantity for sawmill to cut & dry for furniture & flooring industry. There is no limitation of knot for this grade, accept both healthy knots & death knots. Accept bending logs & rotten or pin-hole at the sap-wood. 4 - For D grade: This is the lowest quality grade. There is no defects limitation. Accept all defects. We use this grade for finger-joint board, core of engineering door & floor.
